Our Florida Vacation - Day 1

We spent our first family "vacation" (minus Duke) on Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida. We stayed at the beautiful Palm Bay Club (http://www.palmbayclub.com/) looking out on the Gulf of Mexico - what a view we had! This was William's first flight (which we were very nervous about) and he was wonderful! We had a nonstop flight on Southwest Airlines to Tampa - what an easy flight.

We headed to Florida for my sister's wedding. She had a beautiful ceremony on the beach on Long Boat Key (unfortunately at this time I do not have very good pictures) and a wonderful reception at the Long Boat Key Club (again, not great pictures yet, but hopefully I will be able to post some soon). We were able to meet her husband, Marc, for the first time. He is a great guy and they seem VERY HAPPY together! We are so excited for them and wish them MANY years of happiness - CONGRATULATIONS CHARLOTTE & MARC!!!!

It is always great to get together with family and friends for such a great occasion. Many family friends and family members were able to meet William for the first time. He seemed to have a great time interacting with everyone and was quite a trooper during our vacation.
Catching some zzzzz's at the airport (6:15am)
On our balcony at The Palm Bay Club (what a view)
Our plane landed 5 hours before this picture was taken - still trying to figure out what is going on :-)

Welcoming William

On Saturday, Mach 1, 2008 William entered the world. Will was born at Riverside Hospital at 5:25pm. He weighed 7lbs. 14oz. and was 21 inches long. During the month of February, Mimi was scheduled to be induced at least one time due to pregnancy induced high blood pressure. We both wanted Will to be born naturally and luckily our visit to the doctor on February 28 proved that we could go up to his due date of March 5 without being induced. On Friday, February 29, Michael Bailey, a college friend of Michael's, and his sister, Laura, came to visit. That night we went to bed later than usual and woke up at 5am realizingt it was time to head to the hospital. By 3:10 that afternoon Mimi was starting to push and by 5:25 Will was born; a happy and healthy baby! The nurses and doctor were wonderful during our 12 hours in the labor and delivery room; checking on both Mom & Dad to make sure we were both okay.Visiting family members and friends made the hospital stay easier!
